Singapore

In Singapore we went to a night safari where we went on a tram to see all the nocturnal animals. I saw flying squirrels that looked like monkeys. Then we walked and saw two leopards! The fur was so beautiful it was like a optical illusion! On the tram we saw lions, hippos, hyenas, huge buffaloes with sharp horns, a deer that looks like a unicorn, cows, pigs, more deer, bears, and on the way out we saw cows with horns as big as the animal!

Then we went Gardens by the Bay. I was so excited. The light show was magical. They played songs and I danced all night. We sang and had wonderful time. The lights were awesome. Then we went up to a bridge and saw the city at night. If you are scared of heights I recommend not going on the bridge because you are high up and the bridge shakes a little.

The next day we went kayaking! I went with Da and Gianna went with Mama while Zoe was on her own. Da paddled so fast if I tried to paddle at the same time, well I just couldn’t. When I paddled the kayak did not move, but I soon got the hang of it. We got stuck in the rain because it is monsoon season. It rained so hard the rain heart me! When we got out of the kayaks we were soaking wet. I washed one kayak but the spray gun was the wrong way so I sprayed myself, I didn’t get to wash any more kayaks.

Tent Fire in Pushkar

We came back from the camel fair and we went to the tent and relaxed for half an hour to a hour. When we were relaxing Zoe herd people yelling and I saw people running.I wondered why so many people were running. Zoe asked Da to go and see what was going on. Da peeked outside the tent and said that it was a big fire. I was in the bathroom at the time and I got out of the tent as fast as I could. Da brought his camera and took a video. At least only one of the tents had people staying in it and the people did not get hurt. There were big pillars of smoke. I was surprised that the fire truck took twenty-five minutes to get here.

All the Places We Went In South Africa

We went to Cape Town and we stayed at a beautiful house in Camps Bay. We went to Baked (a restaurant) three times. We spent most of our time in the house. We ate out on the rocks but the sunset was covered by the clouds. We met some neighbors and had a great time. Then we saw penguins. They were molting. It was really cool.

We also went to Kruger National Park. When we got there we went on a safari drive and saw nyala, warthog, buffalo, rhino, baboon, vervet monkey, hippo, and impala! We had an AMAZING dinner. I had a salad, soup, and pork with lentils. Also, our room was really nice.

The next day I saw nyala, rhinos (they were fighting), giraffe, buffalo, warthog, monkeys, and a troop of baboons. Then we went to breakfast, not at the camp but in the wild. It was so delicious. I had four full plates of fruit.

On the last ride I saw a dwarf mongoose! I was really happy because I really wanted to see a mongoose. Then we went off-road and it was like a rollercoaster, but way more fun and bumpy. We saw a lion with a knocked out tooth. He looked so sad. We followed him for a while and then we left.

Last, we went to Johannesburg. We went on our first hop-on hop-off sightseeing bus! We saw a old post office that was the first post office in Johannesburg. It had a fire but is now recovering. We heard new things as we saw new things in the city. We got off at a casino and got on a smaller car with people from China, New Zealand, etc. We saw a big stadium. Then we went to the Hector Pieterson memorial. It was where kids wanted their schools to be taught in English so they marched. The police shot the kids! The poor kids’ only weapons were stones. At the memorial there were towers of rocks representing the students; the bigger the stones the bigger the kid. There was a medium sized pool with water in it which represents the tears of the parents who lost their kids. Then we went to Walter Sisulu Square. We went back to the casino and had lunch there. Then on the hop-on hop-off bus again we saw the Mining District. We also saw the Constitution Hill.
