I made a new friend! His name is Chuck. He's a chicken-duck. Yep. He's a chicken-duck. Are you prepared to face the ultimate power of chicken-ducks! Good, because he's pretty awesome. Chuck has a red eye and his feathers are a brownish black. The first time we saw him, we thought he was a chicken. The next time we saw him, we discovered that he was a duck. That is how he got his name.
We went to the Museum of Greek Folk Musical Instruments. I play the cello. I guess the cello isn't exactly a folk instrument. I guessed this because it wasn't there in the museum. On the museum's first floor, each set of instrument cases had head phones. We got to hear the instruments play! I saw a skinny violin. To play it, you put the bottom of the violin in your lap and pluck or use the bow. It was made out of wood.
So, I have seen a lot in Turkey so far. I was surprised when I learned that Istanbul used to be called Constantinople. I always thought that Constantinople was the name of a famous Italian pizza diner in Europe. I am so disappointed! But our next stop is Greece and I can't wait! I love Greek mythology. Some of my best buddies love Greek mythology as well. One of those friends went back to Poland for a month. She will return to the States while I am on this trip. I haven't seen her since her last day of school! I miss my friends and extended family so much! I have finished a mini-goal here in Turkey: to eat Turkish delight. Yay! I, having been here for 4 days, strongly feel that the drivers here in Istanbul, Turkey should take driving lessons!!!!!!! I am very glad that my home in the U.S.A. is safe.
We are in Istanbul, Turkey today. I want to celebrate this by eating everything in sight. Sadly, that's not going to happen. I ate a lahmacun, so in understandable text, a turkish pizza. To eat this pizza you receive a pizza crust, that looks like a quesadilla, with beef in it. B-b-beef in it, not turkey, beef! Then you put salad and fresh squeezed lemon inside of the pizza. Finally you roll it up and eat it! I don't get it, but I loved it.
